TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROAD

ROADS ACT 1993 – 2015

(SECTION 75 OF THE ROADS ACT 1993)

ROADS REGULATIONS 1994.

 

DECISION TO CLOSE ROADS TO FACILITATE THE ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE & FESTIVITIES IN NENAGH, CO. TIPPERARY.

NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council has made Order closing the following roads: 

ROADS TO 

BE CLOSED:

Banba Square Event

The L-1235-0 at Nenagh Courthouse from its junction with R445-1 to its junction with the L-1237-0 at Nenagh Library.   Courthouse Car Park will also be closed. 

 

Parade Route (Leaving Nenagh Railway Station, to Kenyon Street, to Pearse Street and finishing at Kickham Street). 

 

Town Centre Roads

Rolling road closures of the following town centre roads for the duration of the parade

 

R-498-233 Kenyon Street 

L-1217-0 Stafford Street

R-497-177 Pearse Street

R445-12 Pearse Street

R-445-12 Kickham Street 

R-873-0 Sarsfield Street

L-1241-0 Emmett Place

R445-12 Ashe Road

L-1222-0 Well Road/Martyr’s Road

PERIOD OF 

CLOSURE:

Banba Square Event: 11:30hrs to 17:30hrs on Tuesday 17th March 2026.

 

Town Centre Roads: From 12:45 hrs onwards for duration of the parade.

ALTERNATIVE  

ROUTES:  

Motorists are encouraged to use the N52 Bypass and the M7 Motorway where possible. 

Emergency access will be provided at all times.

Temporary Traffic Management will be in place to facilitate this event. 

REASON  FOR CLOSURE: To facilitate the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festivities in Nenagh.
